Our Mission:
Primary objectives of the Centennial Band Boosters Association are to:
- Collaborate with the Centennial High School Band Director, High School officials, and Las Cruces Public School (LCPS) District officials to promote the
advancement of the CHS music programs;
- Provide financial support;
- Encourage the growth and development of an exceptional music program that complements and expands the educational opportunities of CHS students.
What we do:
The LCPS Budget provided to the CHS Hawk Band does not begin to adequately cover the activities of the band. Therefore one of the primarily Band
Boosters tasks is raising money to support the band program. The Band Boosters also support the director’s vision for the best musical and educational interest of the students. The money we raise helps supply the CHS Hawk Band performing ensembles with the proper staffing, equipment, props, transportation and other support needed to maintain an excellent band program.
What we don’t do:
- We do NOT mandate classroom instruction or curriculum.
- We do NOT select music.
- We do NOT set rehearsal schedules.
That is the role of the Band Director, assisted by the band staff.
When do we meet?
All Band Boosters Association meetings are at 6:00 pm in the Band Room on the second Tuesday of each month unless noted otherwise. We will email an agenda and post it online a few days before the meeting for your review. If you miss a meeting, don’t worry! Meeting minutes and briefings will be available online at www.Centennialband.net.
Why we need your help:
It takes a village to raise a band! Or at least a group of dedicated students and parents to make the CHS Hawk Band program great! The Centennial High School Band Boosters Association is devoted to the support and advancement of the Centennial Band program. The Band Boosters Association needs every parent to become involved! Whether it’s fundraising, chaperoning, event organization, volunteering, or just showing up for monthly meetings, all that we ask is that you share with us your ideas and a little of your time and energy. Everyone has something to contribute and we need each and every one of you!
